Multi Quoting

Options
Can someone tell me how to multi quote please?

I eventually found where it told you, but it said to highlight the small one with an orange bubble in it, but when I highlight it it also highlights the other quote button, so when I click on it I just get the single quote for that post.

Thanks,
Candy

Click the button with the quote marks on it, the one next to the one that says QUOTE, then click the QUOTE button for 3 to be multi quoted,, I just tried it and it works, you can only multi quote 3 quotes at a time.

Click the button that has both a pink and orange speech bubble in it. If clicked correctly a white tick will appear in the orange speech bubble. Press this button on up to 2 more posts (you can only multi quote 3 quotes at a time) then click the usual post reply at the bottom of the thread.

And for quoting more than three you can quote others, one at a time, then cut or copy them, one at a time, and paste them in your post. I did about 7 or 8 once in one post a while back when it was appropriate to show them all together.

Or you can just quote one post then while you're editing your post you can copy and paste a second version of the quoted post then paste some other text in it and delete its original material. Which is sometimes a bit quicker and can save some time toing and froing getting the bits you want if you've already got them saved in a word processing file that's to hand. If you see what I mean. Sorry if that's not clear though. Can't immediately think of a clearer way of saying it.

I know what you mean, I sometimes quote more than 3 at a time too, here's another way.
I hit the multiquote button in the first 3 posts I want to quote. When I come to the 4th post I want to quote I click the normal quote button while holding down the ctrl button, this quote then opens in a new window. Keep doing this until you have all the posts you want to quote open in their own windows.
Go to end of the thread and click Post reply. On screen you will have the 3 original multiquoted posts, reply how you want to. Then open the first new window and copy & paste it's contents into the multiquote post, close that window. Keep doing this until you have copied/pasted/replied to all the posts you wanted to quote.
I wouldn't routinely quote loads of posts in one post though as obviously MSE set a 3 quote limit for a reason. I do though when as you say bangers it's more appropriate to show more than 3 together.

Thanks everyone. No, when I go to click on Quote it highlights the orange bubble too and visa versa. I'm on my phone so it must be the way my browser does it. Can't cut and paste either so multi quoting isn't for me then. Because it's all highlighted when I click on the quote button I did wonder what the orange bubble was for.
