ebay and paypal charges help

I've just started to sell some stuff on ebay and knew there was a listing fee, but I forgot about the selling fee, and didn't know that paypal charges you to receive a payment. Is there any way around being charged to use paypal to recieve money from ebay buyers? How do you make money with all these charges? I have loads…

There is a discussion thread about alternatives to ebay, but I don't think any regular has positively recommended a different site yet. I know some are selling on sites other than ebay but I'm not sure how successful they have been.

I have tried ebid, it was a total waste of time.

No, as ebay hold such a huge chunk of the market that no other auction site threatens them at all.
