Thank you all, you have been so helpful. I just needed to get a perspective on this and what you have suggested sounds like just the right way to go about this. Thank you :T0

Are you 100% sure he hasn't stuffed it down the back of a sofa, behind book shelves etc. It wouldn't be unheard of for a child to think 'if I'm not playing it, neither are you'.
He could ahve been acting strangely because he stashed is somewhere but didn't get the chance to put it back before he went home.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
And I'd say don't get too hung up on this one thing that has happened - all kids do things sometimes that really they shouldn't have done, so hopefully he will learn a lesson and won't try it on again!0

I would avoid using the word steal, asking if he has seen it or moved it is a good idea. I suspect he has (in his mind) 'borrowed' it rather than 'stolen' and was planning on putting it back after playing it - otherwise he'd have taken the box too - not logical, and a fine line between that and theft, but he's 100

If he already has the game at home, why would he want/need to take your copy? This was the first time, my nephew is 10. We had a great couple of days apart from Sunday morning (0630 .. there is a reason i dont want kids, lol) when my nephew wanted to play on the PS3, the game is 18 certificate which i know his parents let him play but i said no, not in my house.0 -

It might be an idea to remove all 18 games from sight just before he's due for another visit - that way he can't be tempted!0
