October - Suggestions please!

Hi everyone,
A few friends and I are looking to book a trip - ideally to somewhere warm - between October 13th and October 28th.
There are likely to be six of us (three couples) so we though hiring a villa somewhere might be a good option. Before we start researching, I thought it might be worthwhile to post on here and see if anyone had any suggestions for destinations (or even accommodation) they would recommend?
We're looking to keep costs down as far as possible, but are open to any ideas (not too keen on the Benidorm/Tenerife route though). We'd be flying from Scotland - ideally Aberdeen, but Edinburgh/Glasgow wouldn't be out of the question. Initial thoughts included places like Turkey, Bulgaria, Malta... A beach/pool holiday sounds good.
Any advice, suggestions or recommendations are appreciated! Many thanks in advance.

We've just stayed in these two places...

The scenery in and around Icmeler is glorious. Getting around by dolmus (mini-bus) is easy. Very close to Marmaris, which is another glorious spot, and the louder Blackpoolish areas are easily avoided.

Calis Beach is just outside Fethiye, and is in a to-die-for location. Easy to get to places like Hisaronu, Ovacik, Gocek and Oludeniz by dolmus.
Flights to Dalaman. 90 minute transfer to Icmeler and an hour to Fethiye.0 -
Puerto Del Carmen on Lanzarote is nice and is still warm in October.0

Whats the budget?0

Hello all,
Many thanks for you replies so far, it's all food for thought...
@getmore4less - We haven't actually had the chance to discuss our budget yet, as we've not all been in the same room at the same time! Ideally we'd be looking at low-cost airline return flights from Scotland, and a package deal might not necessarily work as five of us will be coming from Scotland, and one from Croatia...
It would be amazing to find a private, self-catering villa somewhere, but I'm not sure if that's feasible... (I've done quite a bit of travelling before but never arranged a group holiday like this!)
If I had to put a figure on the total cost of flights + one week's accommodation I would estimate...~£300 per person? Does that sound doable?!
As I'm sure you can tell, any and all advice is welcomed!0 -
Take a look at private villas on www.homelidays.com, in Fuerteventura or Lanzarote (I haven't been to Tenerife but I'm from Alicante so I know Benidorm quite well, and this is NOTHING like that!!).
I've rented using that website in the past, it's reliable and the prices really good.0 -
