Inclusion in local ebay mapper tool

Hello,
I may be being dumb but after listing many items on ebay over the last week or so I have checked the moneysavingexpert local ebay mapper tool to find that my items are not showing.
I have ticked the collection option under postage and I have included text in the description such as cash on collection (and other varieties of wording to the same extent) but am yet to see my items listed in the tools results.
I'm keen to find out what I am doing wrong, any advice?

I have never used or even been aware of the tool you mention so I wouldn't worry. All that matters is that your item is visible when people log into ebay and that depends on a strange formula that no one understands properly called 'Best Match' which in turn depends on your sale history your ranking and seller dashboard.
However th emost commmon reason for items not showing up on any 'collectin only' tools is that they have not set the auction up correctly for collection only and have left a postal option in usually accidentally showing free postage.
If you are new to ebay then please also make sure you are aware of the specific problems with collection only auctions.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. According to that there's just 338 items within 5 miles of my postcode, I live in a large city so am sure there are far more than that.
Can you find it when you sort by nearest first on ebay?
As long as you've listed it to show your location by postcode, local buyers should find it.0 -
Try http://www.localbargainfinder.com -it uses a different set of search parameters that the mse copy doesn't have built in.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0

Hello, thanks for you comments.
I have been using ebay for many many years now and am very familiar with how it works. The issue only came to light when the moneysavingexpert tool became live.
Anyway, after talking to a very helpful guy at ebay it turns out that trying harder was not the answer (as I suspected!!!). The problem was the location of the item on the selling item form. When typing both the postcode and town in, Ebay was not remembering the postcode but only the town information. The result of this was that in searches sorted by location my items were appearing 1 million miles away (and therefore at the bottom of the list) and also not appearing in local searches.
If anyone else encounters this issue then just contact ebay, it took about 30 mins for the guy to reinact the searches that I was doing and to figure out what was wrong, but he sorted it out and now my postcode saves every time. It makes a difference too on collect only items, I have considerably more watchers/bidders than I did previously.
Let the declutter continue... (hopefully more effectively now!)0
