It really depends on the severity of both to be honest and how it affects your daily life.
I have both and have worked full time with it for over 25 years.
(retired now but still hale and hearty)make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

I have severe Osteo-Arthritis in lots of joints and spine, had one hip replacement and another pending, but I certainly am not disabled, I manage on meds and the best treatment I've found is to keep moving.. am retired now but live a full and active life walking lots, swimming and cycling..#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

It is not the conditions that give you DLA, but if you need any help to say cook meals, go to loo in night/day get dressed or have a shower 4 care and whether you can actually walk 50 meters or above without too much difficulty(with or withour stick). I get the DLA for mobility and care because I need that help and meet the conditions in their Descriptors.0

Thanks for replies, it is nothing to do with DIL, just wanted to know this for a mate of mine. Does anyone of you know your T scores for osteoporosis and what does Z means, as I am not sure that that relates to.
The most worrying thing about osteoporosis and osteoarthritis apart from it being very painful, but when you get it is the spine then you got to very careful of breakage of bones as they do not mean very easily.

I have very advanced Osteoporous, I have no pain, I have not broken any bones, (apart from a suspected cracked rib) but no bother what soever. If you let it bother you, it will.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

I must admit those with debilitating form osteoarthritis of osteoporosis could find that statement rather offensive
I dont see why to be honest seeing as I had said in earlier posts that I suffer badly from it, its my attitude to it, I dont let it affect me, I fight it every day. I wont let it beat me, its my phylosophy and it works.
I also have multi joint arthritis, I fight that too, attitude matters.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

I wonder if people would have the energy to fight the disease if they were working in a physical occupation.
I still have not got answers to the question I asked in my post about medications and T and Z scores.

It really depends on what you class as physical, of course I couldnt build roads but as a receptionist I wasnt sat behind my desk all day, I spent it going round offices, up and down stairs at least 50 times a day, which is good for bone building so i am told.
But, each case is different and had I not had this job I would probably have been worse because of lack of activitiy, so I count my self lucky to be honest.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
