Yes is has been mentioned before and, as usual the Daily Fail are wrong in calling them "fines"What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

OH NO! What a shock! Had to look at that grinning tw*t again.
I have news for the Daily Mail. Thousands already avoid the parking charges. It is only the handful that are actually taken to court, and that may be about to end.0 -
Ahh apologies, the publishing date of the article says todays date and had a brief look through todays threads, must have missed it.
Yes a common mistake (or purposeful misinformation perhaps?) by the daily wail and other tabloids, mixing 'penalties' with fines.0 -
You saw it here first, though. The Mail have got details wrong, but the fact that the case has been given coverage in a national proves what an almighty OWN GOAL S R-S has scored. So much for his "we will prosecute more non-payers" cr*p. Going to appeal? Yeah, we've heard that one before, too. Not a chance. They take it into a court of record and they are TOTALLY boogaroolered.0

To be pedantic, they aren't penalties, either. The legal term is "speculative invoices".The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0 -
I am glad that the Mail has highlighted the grinning fool's close links with the BPA. Let's face it, it's just an old boy's club which acts as a very biased mouthpiece for the whole private parking "industry".What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

I'm not a fan of the Mail. But if it gets a crusade going and rids us of the parasites...
I will be.0 -

Yes quite, which is why i surrounded the word penalties with marks! What would be the urban dictionary type term for 'speculative invoices' then? Sure we could think of a few...:Dgive_them_FA wrote: »I'm not a fan of the Mail.
Can't be all bad give them FA, (i'm not either for the record) this part of the forum is famous, read through the comments, this one is currently second best rated lol!Nothing new here. A quick look on moneysavingexpert.com will show numerous complaints about these private parking companies. If you get a "parking charge notice" (note NOT a "penalty" or "fine" as private companies don't have any authority to impose fines) the best strategy is just to ignore it. Do NOT enter into communication with the parking company whatsoever. The parking companies' contract (and a very dubious one at that) is with the driver of the vehicle, not the registered owner - however all they can do is pursue the registered owner as they obtain their details from the DVLA. They will try to bully you into paying by sending about 7 or 8 letters threatening court action, bailiffs etc., but eventually they will give up and move on to easier pickings elsewhere. If you contact the parking company, you're effectively admitting that you were driving the vehicle, which will only encourage them. Don't let the bullies get away with it!

Anyone want to claim ownership?! Lol!0 -
I've just remembered what that picture of S R-S reminds me of. He's the spitting image of Alfred E Neuman from Mad Magazine.
