Cost of painting Pebbledash
NewDIYer
We are looking to paint our ugly pebbledash and are considering doing it ourselves but this seems to be a lot of work to prepare the surface (it is fairly dirty/algae in patches), paint etc, costly to hire the equipment and also fairly time consuming.
Roughly how much would it cost to get someone to do it? It's a 2-bed mid terrace and we're only looking to do the front of the house for now, so it's not a huge area.
Thanks.

Roughly speaking this shouldn't cost that much. Providing that there are no repairs to match the existing then you should look to pay about £500 (windows excluded). To treat the algea etc you should use a proper masonry stabiliser/ preparation but then two coats of (good quality) exterior masonry paint should do the job. Good luck. RHA0

I was quoted £700 for a similar job.Seemed too much for a job which will take about 4 hours at most and only cost minimal amount for paint etc so hubby is doing it himself.Do it yourself if you can,its not a difficult job.Or buy the materials and give a mate a few quid for a few hours work.
Or, as you are in a mid-terrace see if any of your neighbours on either side want theirs done too.It could work out cheaper for you to get a company to quote for multiple house fronts together as most of their costs are in setting up for each job."Reaching out to touch the stars dont forget the flowers at your feet".0 -
Thanks for your replies. Yes that does seem quite a lot. Think it might work out a lot cheaper for us to do it ourselves but perhaps I'll ask around the neighbours first0
