Does anyone know whether if I take out landline rental and calls with Orange, I'll be able to use an override provider, or do they bar them?

Only BT must to allow the use of override providers (i.e. via their 4 or 5 digit prefixes)
However, use of override providers like 1899, 18185 and 18866 is always possible via their 0808 gateway numbers.
Prices are generally slightly higher than using the prefix, but normally, still quite a saving on the line provider's rates.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
Hi. Thanks. What do you mean byt "their 0808 gateway numbers"?
I know that others besides BT allow the use of overrides. I'd like to know whether Orange do.0 -

While this is helpful, it isn't what I want to know. I want to know whether I can use override providers if I go to Orange for my landline rental and calls. Or, do they bar them?0

Yes, you can use override providers, but you may have to do so using their 0808 or 020 gateway numbers.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market.
