ParkingEye Forster Square

Hi registered just to post this. Got my first ever parking charge notice (Letter 1 updated) after parking in the ParkingEye car park at my local retail park. They allow max 3 hours stay, and I exceeded that by 45 mins. I used two of the shops on the park then went for a job interview lasting two hours just around the corner which turned out to take me over the limit. I agree I broke the terms but have no intention to pay and plan to ignore any further notices just for my amusement. From previous threads I know what to expect - so thanks for who posted those.

One thing that totally stood out to me was the complete absence of details of a location for the "offence". The car park is named, but there is no address, street name or even town on the notice (Forster Square is the name of the rail station nearby, not the road the C/P is on) so that in itself deserves ignoring.

I'll keep you updated on any other notices. Off-topic: must be a day for it the same day I got the notice my elderly dad got ripped off at Londis - not worth a new post but I've written to them.

We don’t condone not paying or overstaying in a pay car park. If you do owe the CPO anything, then you should write to them, offering this in “full and final settlement”.

Also advise them that they are "jointly and severally liable" for the actions of their agents, the PPC, and that any further actions have been judged to constitute harassment under the terms of The Protection from Harassment Act 1997. That ought to make the CPO call off the PPC and, hopefully, realise the potential cost of doing business with them.
The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life. :)

Thanks but it wasn't a pay car park, sorry I wasn't clear. The C/P is free for shoppers limited to 3 hours with no facility to pay at the time for an extended stay, so I don't feel I owe anything. I do always pay displayed parking charges at pay & display but this was not P&D.

Make no mistake, it would have been Parking Eye who would have talked the car park owner into applying this limit. In a free car park that would be the only way the scammers would be able to screw the drivers...

no sorry, forgot the rule about all four valve stems have to be at 12 o'clock or that's a £60 charge.... the shadow of your radio aerial is overhanging into the next bay, that'll be £60 please.... see how ridiculous this scam is?

Second letter arrived. Mum's budgie is looking forward to me getting the third letter as by then I'll be able to completely line the floor of his cage with them.

Thanks for your concern. I did get offered the job but had to decline it as I got a better offer working in Leeds city centre. Leeds is noted for not having a dirty great hole in the city centre.

BTW I have thanked ParkingEye for the nice picture of my car, and have sent a picture of some money to them as a means of payment (no stamp on the A4-sized envelope), but unfortunately I forgot to give them my details. It may need sending again.
