Neighbour's replacement roof

Hi
Don't really know where to go with this now, it would be so easy just to ignore it, am being quite girly now (and am 32 weeks pregnant). Mid terrace house - 1930s red rose tiled roof (think that's what the tiles are called), nextdoor neighbours had had theirs replaced in March. I am really concerned about the join with mine - the tiles that were once all flush now have gaps visible from ground level. I also swear I can see chinks of light in the loft - but have been unable to go up again to check due to size of baby bump (partner terrified of ladders...).

I asked my neighbours about it and they contacted the roofing company with my details. The roofers never got in touch with me. I rang them. It was arranged that the roofer would come around on a Saturday morning to look at it. He didn't turn up that morning, I rang and left a message. I returned to a card pushed through the door. I then emailed. Have heard nothing.

I had my roof repaired last summer - ridge tiles reset and a few broken tiles replaced. I asked the builder who did this work (and loads of other work over the last decade) his opinion - he said the join was wrong and any gaps you can see from ground level would be letting weather in. He recommended trying to get the roofer to repair it and if no join contacting building control and possibly ending up in the small claims court.

It would be so easy to just now ignore this, but I have a feeling I could well regret this in years to come...
Please help with some wise words (baby due mid July and brain about to switch in to nesting mode).
Thanks very very much.

If he was a half decent roofer, he would have made sure that your side of the join was watertight too, not just his customers.

I would try and contact him again. At least you know he has at least been round as he put his card through your door.

If he comes and fobs you off, stand your ground. If he doesn't come round, or does come round but isn't willing to do anything, write to him under recorded delivery (DO NOT email him) giving him say 14 days to rectify the work then threaten him with County Court (Small Claims)

However, if it is prolonged or you feel you aren't getting anywhere, you may find it quicker and less strressful to bite the bullet and get your own roofer to do the works and put it down to experience.
