Just about to renew my insurance.
For the past 4 years I have been with UK Insurance
I have setup my girlfriend as a second driver under MY name.
Is it better for her as a female to have me as a named driver or does this not matter

Why don't you ask for a quote with female as main driver and you as named and see if it's cheaper ........ :-/0

I was going to. Just wanted to hear people experiences on this before I spent too much time investigating0

Ah apologies, from my own experience it is cheaper for me (female) to be main driver but if she has no NC then it might not be.
But then it is a way to get no claims built up if she is going to have a car of her own at some point.0 -
Sorry to say this but you NEED to be acurate, when telling the insurers - if they find out that the info was incorrect & you made a claim - don't expect them to pay out!!

Would probably be better for you to stick as you are.
If your g/f doesn't have any no claims then the premium will probably be higher than you're paying now if you have at least 4 years NCD. Plus you'll lose your NCD after so long of 'inactivety'
On the flip side, putting the policy in her name will benefit you when she totals it after losing concentration while putting her make up on and for getting to steer0 -
Thanks for all your help0
