Please Help

Hi all

Ive been with the RBS for over 22 years now and lived with charges upon charges I recon over £9000 in that time, I admit Ive not been the best banker.

I had a £2000 overdraft living off it for years so I decided to get a loan for £2000 from the RBS and close this account and pay it from my new account but They wont let me close it because I have a loan with them,

Whats my options please, I'm pretty desperate to get out of this prison of charges every month, I feel very low at the moment and cant see an end to it, its like being in prison.

I have thought about stop paying them anything and taking them to court.

    I'm a bit confused.

You've got a loan and paid off the overdraft right?

So open a new account, put your salary in there, transfer direct debits over except the loan, and each month move over the amount to pay the loan + enough on the first month to cover the charges coming at you.

No more charges, no more problems, close the account when the loan is finished.

That's the worst thing you can do. Rest assured it'd be they who took you to court and it would ruin what, if anything, is left of your credit record. Besides, what have they done in order for you to sue them?

So what exactly are you paying charges for now if you have cleared the overdraft with the loan?
    :p
