in Credit cards
hi, i have 2 cards whose 0% ends in next 2 months, i owe on the cards £10,000 approx ive just applied and been accepted for an rbs card 0% for 22 months but limit is just over £5000 and can only transfer £4800 leaving approx £5200 heading towards full interest rate obviously i want to balance transfer this to another card but don't wish to adversely affect my credit rating.
i also wish to apply for a cashback card for everyday use.
My car is also on last legs so a loan for a newer car is also on the horizon
As you can see i have a lot of applications i wish to make just want to see how many its safe to hit at once.
Priority: balance transfer, loan for car, cashback card
thoughts appreciated:o

If you doubted you'd get the full £10K in one go (and you must have with that size of balance?) then you'd have been better applying for 2 one after the other.
As it is, I'd suggest applying for an MBNA card. If successful, in terms of acceptance and limit, then this one card would satisfy both major objectives, being as it offers both BTs and MTs at 0%.
If you already have an MBNA card then we need a re-think!0 -
thanks currently have barclaycard £7500 and halifax £2400 will try mbna to switch the rest0
-
2 cards and 2 meerkats if successful0
-
Forget about the meerkats, start thinking about paying back the ten grand because you probably won't be able to flip it for ever, particularly if you're paying for a new car.0

important thing is to get 10k on 0% meerkat just a bonus!
Downsizing my clapped out mondeo very expensive to run and looking to get a citroen c1 very cheap to run, the savings will almost pay for itself0 -

Frequent quote on here, but often not the case, particularly if you only do low mileage, and ignoring the interest on the loan repayments.0 -

If you apply for an MBNA card make sure you do it *before* the new card appears on your credit file. I was just declined for an MBNA card for one reason and one reason alone -
I had a new account wit less than six months of repayment history on it.
The application was referred and told me to call a number, which I did, spoke to the underwriter, who said re-apply in a few months time as they won't accept applicants with new accounts (new as in under 6~12 months repayment history)...
I've come across this before - many many years ago (2006?) with MBNA so seems this criteria of theirs hasn't changed
Creation would be a good bet. They accepted me on Tuesday despite the new account and a couple of recent searches.Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

Does MBNA's aversion to lending to people with new credit accounts also apply to Virgin?0

Youve gone back to them thenDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0
