On this page you'll find 2 lists; you need to be in both of them to be eligible for IS.

There's many criteria, having a partner can often stop you from claiming IS but not always.
- lone parent w child under 5 (it's currently transitional from under 7)
- In receipt of carers allowance
- 28 wks pregnant or recently had baby
- Taking unpaid parental leave from work
- refugee learning English who arrived less than a year ago
- under 20 on a course of F/T non advanced education started before turning 18
- A witness attending court
- claiming Incapacity Benefit and want to top up to cover your partner
- Illness from work in receipt of SSP but on a low rate SSP
It sounds like you should be claiming Job seekers Allowance. It would be easier if you gave more details of your own life,0 -
Your other posts say you work full time but that your girlfriend is dropping her hours down to 8??
Your joint income is too high for IS and income based JSA. If you need more income between you, then your girlfriend is best looking for full time work or finding a second part time job.0
