Driving in Ukraine

Hi All,

So I am driving through Ukraine next month and I went to add the option to drive to my insurance.

Rung Admiral and they've said they won't cover me in Ukraine.

Anyone have any ideas what to do? Google seems to think you can buy insurance at the border... but goodness knows how valid that would be. I am only driving through for 1 day.

Second thing, I asked for a Green Card but got told I don't need it, just need my policy. Now my policy does cover me for Europe anyway, but will I still need a specific bit of paper showing EU cover?

Thanks,

By law, all car insurance policies sold in the EU must cover the minimum standards of every other country in the EU - there therefore isn't any need for a green card in those countries. As they said no to covering you in Ukraine - I assume that's the only non-EU country you're driving through? In which case you won't need one.

Can't help on the first bit. The Direct Gov website advises you to enquire at the border as well if your insurer won't give you a green card - but I have absolutely no idea what options would be available.
