final bill from EDF 10 months after switch!

hi,

i move suppliers often and last July I switched from EDF to BG.

I paid the outstanding on the account then moved on to paying BG.

imagine my surprise when this morning I got a final bill from EDF requesting payment of over 200 pounds before 6th June!

I havent got 200 pounds at the minute and I dont know why it has taken 10 months to get a final bill to me, any suggestions as to what the best course of action is?

Was the 'outstanding' amount you paid based on an estimate? It is common for the old supplier to recalculate the balance owed when the final reading at transfer is available.

That said I have no idea why the delay - did you supply the closing reading promptly? was there any hitch in the transfer?
