New Bosch washing machine

Hi

We have recently taken delivery of a new washing machine, Bosch WAQ28460GB, and we have noticed that during parts of the washing cycle there is a lot of noise, it sounds like some kind of pump.

Is this a characteristic of these machines?

Thanks

We have a Bosch Exxcel 1600 Express and during its washing cycle it does make qutie a noise, not unnaturally, when, during its cycle it exchanges water by way of the pump, pumping water out through your water outlet pipe, and by way of the water coming in through your intet valves.

The only noises that I would be concerned about would be metal to metal sounds.

It is hard to judge from your description but lets see what other Bosch users say.

Possibly, is there a small panel on the right lower corner of the front of the machine? Bosch machines mount the drain pump on the front, behind the panel is usually a screw in access port. Makes it easier to sort out if something makes it through the wash that shouldn't like a bra wire or cord and gets jammed without having to dismantle the machine.

Can be noisy being on the front, especially if the machine adjusts the wash to a lower water level as its then just pumping dregs and air for some time.

BTW Never unscrew the round access port unless your sure the machine is empty, even so you will still get some water come out, have a tray ready to catch it.
If you had to open it to because its jammed then a considerable amount would flood out.

got a new bosch WM. Its one of the top models with brushless drum. Its almost silent. Often don't know its running were it not for the lights. When the pump is on there is a noise but hardly anything.
