Connecting Flights cover HELP!

Can anyone help me find a policy that include connecting flight cover? It seems to be hard to find and would seem to be a logical part of what you would require from a travel insurance policy:( .
We require mainly thais but also medical.
Thanks in advance

Try searching for the phrase "travel inconvenience". At one time I bought a policy from 24/7, telephoned the broker, and was told that cover for missed connections was included (it is not clear from the policy wording, and I have no claims experience). And it looks as if the cover you need comes with a Diners' Card so long as you use it to buy the air tickets, but few of us qualify for that card.

Otherwise, your best bet is to ensure that your entire journey is on a single air ticket. That way, if you arrive late at an airport where you have to change 'planes, the airline is responsible for putting you on to the next available flight and looking after you during any wait.

Cant help you but is the connecting flight with the same airline or same alliance group? If so, they will just put you on the next one available if you miss your booked flight (or they may hold the plane)

No, not if you are using two separate tickets for the two bits of the journey. You can often save money by splitting tickets, but then if something goes wrong you are on your own.
  • Thanks for the responses. The local flights are with local airlines (TAME) and the long haul is with Iberia. There doesn't seem to be anything we can do except keep our fingers crossed. The Travel inconvenience policies seem only to come with credit cards... next time we'll know!
