No statement > No payment

More of a story really but if anyone wishes to pass comment/advise please do so ....

My credit card statement usually comes around the middle of the month (16th) and I pay my CC bill in full by direct debit normally on the 1st of the following month.

In April I only used my card for three small transactions(13th/14th/15th) and as these were not on my (any) statement (and no money was taken from the supporting account) I assumed they would just 'roll over' to my current May statement. I do not receive a statement if zero money is owed.

Anyway, by now I should have received my May statement (16th) and I have not so accordingly I registered on-line (not done before) so I could look at balance on current statement. In late April I had some BIG payments out. Anyway my on-line statement is showing zero owed! :j

I do have the money to pay but the bank account where the direct debit is taken from provides zero interest whereas I do have a 3% interest bearing account so I may move my money to this in the interim. I will be annoyed if the CC Company suddenly wake up and apply the DD but it seems they may have forgotten me!

Give them a call, it's a lot easier in the long run.

Aye, rather than surmising what *might* happen, with a bunch of randoms on the internet, give your credit card company a call and simply find out what *will* happen!

I'm not sure I totally understand but
you don't say what three 'small' transactions add up to but lets suppose £100

so at 3% AER in one month you make 3/12 = 25 pence interest

for the sake of 25p interest you are risking a failed DD or what ?

I thought they had to tell you at least 14 days in advance of them actioning any DD, so if your statement says "zero owed" then any DD attempt is fraud and the bank will refund.

Calling it fraud is probably a bit strong.

Under the Direct Debit Guarantee customers should usually be give ten days notice if the date, amount or frequency of a Direct Debit changes.

So, stuffing the money away in to a savings account until it's needed should be okay.

Coincidently a payment I've made is also missing from my credit card statement. I topped up an O2 pre-pay mobile phone six weeks ago, but the transaction didn't appear on my last credit card statement, dated 14th May, and doesn't show online for the next statement.

    ^ this.

it always amazes me the number of people who ask advice on here or the internet in general instead of asking the people who actually know ie the company involved!
