Cheque cashing

Hi, apologies if this is in the wrong place...
Hubby is due a cheque for some ppi refund, but the company aren't sending it until the last day that they have to, which is Tuesday, therefore even if it comes by Thursday it won't clear in his bank for our holiday ( half term week).
Are there any places that will cash a third party cheque? Can he go to our branch of the bank that issues the cheque and cash it? I appreciate he may have to pay a fee, but that way we will get the money in time for our holiday.
His bank takes 4 working days for it to clear.
Thank you

Third party places like pawnbrokers may cash it for a fee of upto 20% of the value.
Personally I'd suggest that patience is a virtue.
Surely the holiday isn't dependent on the cheque?0 -
Call your bank and ask them to increase your overdraft (if you have one) to cover the amount of the cheque until it clears. It will probably be cheaper then using a cheque cashing service.0

Thanks all, holiday is not dependent on the cheque, it would just help! No overdraft allowed on the account he has.
We will probably just wait, i just wondered if there was a way around the wait, that's all!0 -
You could pay for special presentation but there are no guarantees it will be faster.0

You could just bank it and draw on it from an ATM as soon as it clears whilst you are away.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0
