Help! How long is it acceptable to wait for delivery of my furniture?

I have ordered 5 pieces of furniture from Oakfurnitureland and paid for it early in March. Latest dispatch date was today 25th May, latest delivery was to take place on 8th June. I have called their helpline as I haven't received any updates and was told that due to problems with their supplier I'll have wait a further 8 to 10 weeks to have my furniture delivered. That's twice the time, all in all 6 months! I have already gotten rid of my furniture. What can I expect of them and how to go about it?

So what are you using now?

If it was me and I really needed it I would check other suppliers for availability and then just cancel the order. Not much more you can do.

Cancel the order and go elsewhere. Many places will have some lines available for immediate dispatch

I have similar issues, paid more than £1000 in May with latest delivery date 17th June. Heard nothing, made repeated phone calls and still no good answer. I have now threatened to cancel the order, paid by credit card so can use the credit card company to get my money back. Shop and sales persons were great when buying but since their customer services and deliveried stink. They have already broken contract so within my rights to ask for money back.
