I owe builders £10,000

1. Why hasn't BC been round? Has Building Regulation Approval been applied for?.....Building inspector has not been - the builder made the mistake with the trap.....
2. Has the builder admitted this?
I can only get this to make sense if you had a price for ceramic tiles then because you went for the glass the tiler wanted extra. Reasonable because they are harder to cut. Not so reasonable because as a tiler he should know what the difference is and be able to give you a price for it.What the tiler says he worked does matter - I agreed a price for standard tiling with the builder and as I went for tiles that needed a bit more technical there was addittions to the bill for extra time, although the tiler seems to have taken the p**s.

I have writer's block - I can't begin to tell you about it.
You told me again you preferred handsome men but for me you would make an exception.

1. As far as I know the Inspector came round once and was sent away cos they were behind with the work - I have put in writing to the builder that the inspections need to take place and works be passed before I pay any further money - should I get the building inspector in myself now - the builder has all the p/work so how do I go about it?
2.Another builder (friend) has stated the trap is insufficient, the builder has not admitted this and so far has suggested we keep the trap from 'drying out'.
3. Yes you are right - quote for ceramic tiles and glass/slate chosen - came as a bit of a shock the price - we knew it would be a little more but most of the glass tiles went in whole and same with the slate - the pattern was tricky fitting them in though but not that tricky.
4. As 1.The best things in life are free.....or at least discounted!!!0 -
I'd be tempted too, so that you have some official record of where things are up to. You don't know if there are other things not to standard and this would be a reliable way of basing your case for any further action.1. It shouldn't "dry out" unless you don't use it for ages in the summer. Unless it really is totally the wrong trap. Can you get some access to it, or can you see it somehow that your friend has come to this conclusion?2.Another builder (friend) has stated the trap is insufficient, the builder has not admitted this and so far has suggested we keep the trap from 'drying out'.
So how come he couldn't quote for the revised spec and arrangement? Sounds like he either didn't know what he was doing or was looking to make some money.3.
