lowering ceiling in bathromm

I am lowering my ceiling in the bathroom, i intend to drop it about 3 " from the existing one will this be sufficient as i am wanting to put spots up so i am planning on having the transformers between the old ceiling and new, is that enough clearance

it should physically be enough space for the spot lights , but have you considered ventilation ?
these lights run very hot , and as such need quite a bit of space around them - are they ip rated , for wet areas"The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page."

I agree with albalad but have you allowed for smoke hoods as some new regs require these to be fitted as well. If you allow 4" then this should be adequate for any eventualities. Happy bathtimes!!
