Anyone can prepare a deed for himself, but indeed preparing one for another person is best avoided because of the mentioned Act.

In any case, considering OP's specific need, it seems the best route, is to consult a solicitor unless he knows where to find a reputable template (which seems unlikely).

Fair enough. My post (# 8) should have read:
Not so. Anyone can write a Deed for themselves.

Just as anyone can write a will for themselves

And anyone can do their own conveyancing.

But the fact that it is legal to do so, does not mean it is wise to do so.
That was my intention, but you're right to clarify the point.

I was, however, correcting your own post (# 4)

I am 99.9% sure that a deed must be drafted by a Solicitor, but this can include a master that is completed by others.

    Well no, that is correct

The law is clear that it is a reserved instrument activity and that there exemptions as opposed to different classes of entitlement .

Perhaps we can agree on 99% :D
Stop! Think. Read the small print. Trust nothing and assume that it is your responsibility. That way it rarely goes wrong.
