Hi
Long time viewer, first time writer haha
I wondered if I could have some advice about my boiler - I think I need to replace it soon and wondered what you guys thought about particular brands? Worcester Bosch has been mentioned to me - what makes them so good? What makes them better than the rest - or are they not?
Are they more expensive and if so why? And whats the reliability and how economical are they? Sorry for so many questions!!

A boiler is only as good as the standard of the installation and annual servicing. Ask 5 RGIs your questions and you will get 5 different answers. The key is choose an installer recommended to you by a source you trust. More here.
Btw...as a long time lurker you will already have the answers to most of your questions.;)Ask to see CIPHE (Chartered Institute of Plumbing & Heating Engineering)0 -
Worcester Bosch are not as good as they are made out to be.
They are also a total PITA to work on afterwards!0 -
although to be honest, most modern high efficiency condensing boilers are more difficult to work on than theyr forerunners. ive fitted worcesters for years and years, amongst others, and ive always found them to be very well built and incredibly reliable.0

Poorly designed for access and working on afterwards.0

We have a Worcester Bosch condensing boiler and we are very happy with its performance. We service it every year and the engineer has only had to go through a normal yearly service, at the end of the day I would say that you could find fault with almost everything on the market today if you want to.
If you want perfection, I could not point you in the right direction, you should be in a position to find one easily from your experiences on this site.
I did read in a brochure for Rolls Royce luxury cars, they stated that
'Our cars never break down, but sometimes they fail to proceed' same with boilers I guess.
