It's in pence. So the shares are worth just less than £2k.
  • Sorry it wasn't the news you were hoping for (which was to hear that you were now a millionaire!).

uk shares are pennies and subdivided down to one hundredth of a penny 1.01p

USA shares are dollars and divided down to a cent

    $1.01

USA share prices tend to be much higher as a result and they judge shares on face value alone. Some will not deal in shares below 10 dollars as being too small, the DOW index is ranked by price ?

What really matters is the market cap which is the same for any country, the total value of the company though its still just a price its the sum total and comparable between stock exchanges
Divide market cap by total shares then multiply by how many you hold and thats your money worth today.
Google shows this but I believe this doesnt allow for discounted warrants (future share issues) like Barclays gave to the arabs so the final answer on exact worth is a bit murky:think:

actually on contract notes Im sure Ive seen half a dozen decimal places used but in terms of a basic stock quote anyway, its two for either country
