Frost free freezer freezing up.

I have an LG frost free fridge freezer (about 2 1/2 yrs old). It has started developing an ice patch in the bottom of the freezer. Phoned company that we bought it from who suggested that I make sure it's clean and no pipes are blocked. (It's clean and there are no pipes or much else to see.) Same bloke suggested that I defrost it (he was well aware that it is supposed to be a frost free one!). Has anyone any idea what's wrong with it?
I have plenty of willpower - it's won't power I need.

We had this problem with our old frost free freezer and also with my mum's. It is most likely iced up pipes. If the door has been left open slightly at some time, a lot of water will have been produced and sat in the pipes at the bottom under the drainage hole. You then shut the freezer and that water freezes. No more water can go down, it runs off and you get ice in the freezer.

You need to pour hot water into the drainage hole to melt the ice. It is a bit of a wet and messy job but it does cure the problem if icing up is the cause.

Thank you Bossyboots. Where do I find the drainage hole?

It should be right at the back at the bottom. It might have a plate over it so it is not obvious but it will be there somewhere.

We had the exact same problem with our Bosch fridge-freezer.

On the Bosch there's a pipe that runs from the drip tray under the freezer coils down into a plastic container on top of the compressor (the coils, drip tray was hidden behind a back panel). At some point something had got into the drain system and plugged the pipe between the tray and the container - it was like a clear gel, not a major blockage but enough to stop the water draining.

Pull the fridge out, check if there's a drain tray and check the pipes for blockages.
