Shoe goo - saved me so much money

Shoe goo is an excellent adhesive, marketed as a shoe repair product, but can actually men just about anything, and can bond different materials together as well.. Like wood on metal. metal on metal. ANY type of plastics etc etc.

Recently I got an old fan out of the shed. You may already know by now if you tried to buy a fan that all the cheap fans have been sold out within days, currys, argos, supermarkets.. all sold out.

Well I just mended this pretty beat up fan with a small application of shoe goo. more details on this thread

What the thread doesn't tell you is that the top part was pretty beat up too. The grill at the top got unstock from the motor casing, so I glued that on.. The pole and stand was missing so I just glued it onto an old chopping board.

Result = win.

The other day I even repaired my wing mirror with it, was looking at £60 + labour costs to put a new wing mirror, but I took off the cover and just glued the frame of the wing mirror back together.. Ideally I should solder, but shoegoo works just as well.

    I seldom read a thread that thrills me as much as this one has.

    I'd never heard of it and so am very grateful to the OP.

    I've a couple of pairs of shoes that I need something like this.

    Me too. Got some of my Loakes re-soled last year and after a month and 3 wears the sole on one started peeling away at the front. Trader didn't want to know. This sounds ideal to sort it.
