No it can't be - a return is £51.50
Two singles on most trains adds up to £50 - but you can shave a fiver, possibly more off that if you are can be a bit flexible on timing, leaving a bit earlier or coming back a bit later.
OTH the flexibility of the £51.50 ticket may be worth the small extra amount. It's valid on any train on weekends/holidays.
If you are prepared for a slower journey, travelling from Waterloo via Salisbury can have cheaper fares too0 -
