Anyone ever contacted Stephen Hester (CEO of RBS/Natwest)?

Options
I contacted Stephen Hester on Sunday via email... has anyone ever done this and if so, how long did he take to reply? I sent my email to Stephen.Hester@rbs.com and Stephen.Hester@rbs.co.uk - have I got the right address?
Thanks

If you have a query or complaint, you should be going through the appropriate channels, not emailing Stephen.

I am also pretty sure it's against forum rules to post these email addresses.

I have contacted numerous CEOs about serious issues in the past, all of which have been extremely PLEASED I have done so, as it has thrown up things they were never aware of which were failings within their company. You do not have the right to tell me who I should and shouldn't contact so get out of the thread.

Have any of these really "pleased" people been CEO's of major international banks?

You have nothing to lose by emailing him, but he will not answer you. Hopefully you'll get lucky and your complaint will be fast-tracked by his office staff though (some companies do that, some just ignore them).

(And you also don't have the right to demand people leave the thread if you want to get into that game!).

Have you just though about fillowing the correct channels.

Nine times out of ten the concerns just get passed to the complaints department anyway. I'm sure Stephens PA wouldn't have a clue about retail banking and very much doubt they can even use retail banking systems etc.

    What is your concern?

Your email will have been intercepted by his assistant and forwarded to the appropriate department to deal with. You don't think he will personally read every email he receives do you ? If you think your previous emails from CEO's are composed and hand typed by them, then you are very naive. They have people to deal with these things for them.

Thats why there are procedures to follow, if it's deemed urgent enough for him to look into, then he will get it.

Total rubbish. Most CEOs will either see a summary of complaints after they've been dealt with or even see the response on the way out .... in order to stay abreast of issues.
They don't need or want people sending the complaints directly to them .... when they've made sure there are avenues in place.

I would think his wife and family have.
I have contacted numerous CEOs about serious issues in the past, all of which have been extremely PLEASED I have done so

And if you met them in real life they wouldnt have a clue what you are on about as it would be the team below them that write the responses and deal with the issues.
They don't need or want people sending the complaints directly to them

And from a regulatory point of view they would not be in a position to deal with them compliantly anyway.

Nowadays and with big corporates yes.

Two of these 'pleased' people have been the CEO of hutchison 3g (3 mobile) and the COO of BT so yes, they have been rather 'important'. I deal with the CEO of the company I work for, and that is a global FTSE100. I know that they are just normal people and she deals with everything and everything herself. The fact is, I contacted Stephen in order to get a response... something I haven't received from my 4 email and 3 calls to customer care. Not one response. Would you be pleased if your bank transferred £3000 out of your account and charged you for the privilege, closed a savings account for no reason and couldn't tell you where the account AND your £12000 was for THREE months and rather than transferring money into your isa, actually sent it tto your ex-wife and refused to return it?

Tend to be the first things the PAs aim for. Not only do they have complaints in - some people even send invoice payments that way. If you work in a large organisation - rolling your sleeves up periodically and doing a few hours in the incoming postroom is an excellent way to stay abreast of 'customer mentality'. Which can be distinctly weird at times.
