Help, About To Get Sacked For Reading Managers Emails

I agree in normal circumstances we just add another number, but if you think someone is hacking into your email then you would go for a completely different password and something that you thought no one would guess (unlike kids/partner names, car make etc).scheming_gypsy wrote: »manager changing password doesn't help too much. Most people with a password that needs changing at a regular interval usually just add a number to the end and can be guessed pretty easy.

you would think that but people do tend to go for something they can remember rather than something people won't guess.

You must get EVERYTHING IN WRITING !!
When it's in writing they are accountable.
Otherwise they will stitch you up like a kipper.

I'm surprised that the company are confronting someone about this rather than just not saying anything and trying to catch someone in the act. Their current accusation, if proved false, would make them look very bad. A webcam set up in the room where this is happening would solve this problem easily. Makes me wonder if the OP is not being duped into believing that the company has a reason to sack her when the truth is perhaps that they wanted to sack her but just needed to find a reason, IYSWIM.0

changing his / her password won't affect anything when it's their manager being logged in. 0 -
Hi Jennifer1978, just to let you know that my thoughts are with you at such a time as I have just been through this myself..... please see the thread directed to as people on here have been so great.... I would add the following advice.... 1) ask for the actual evidence... including dates/times etc.. 2) ask who has produced it and how it has been used against you 3) has it been compiled independently 4) ask for a meeting to discuss it and ask this to be notated. 5) ask them to give you the accusation in writing 6) ask if they are looking at all angles on this... i.e who else could have done this.... (can you come up with variables as well????) Become knowledgeable.... i.e I asked if my terminal could be remotely accessed if someone knew the IP address of it.... I think this came from Peter999... didn't mean anything to me but they were flumoxed by this!!!!! Mention obvious things like record with the company to date/devestated about accusations etc... and above all STAY CALM...... They cannot sack you easily for something you have not done.... as CFC says there is a process to go through and the fact that they have not suspended you in the first instance may be just a lot of hot air and jesticulating....... Good luck and keep posting is my advice and please PM me if you would like further specifics.......0
