in Credit cards
This has always been a slight curiousity of mine, but can anyone confirm/correct me on my understanding of this, this is all presumed.
1. You apply for Credit Card
2. Application received by CC company, CRA are referenced as is CIFAS, this and the information provided on application is compared against pre-set lending criteria which decides banding on product or rejection.
3a. You are accepted, sent a welcome letter to the product.
3b. If rejected, decision letter sent along with explanation.
4. CC company creates a new credit account with limit determined against lending critera, issues card number and PIN.
5. CC company forwards your details to Oberthur (or similiar) along with card design and card number to be printed and sent out directly to consumer upon completion of printing process.
6. Pin held back by bank, then sent out after set period to customer.
7. Customer activates card by calling CC company call centre, try to push PPI products to customer, and welcome them to the CC company.
8. Customer can now use card.
Anything obvious I have got wrong or missed out?
M.

Seems ok, if you have a particular query or concern then you need to be specific. I have received my pin advice before the credit card on occasion though.0

Yep, generally PINs precede the cards, for security reasons.0

For both my credit card and recently replaced bank card I received the PIN after the card.
...but this is Clydesdale Bank and Vanquis, probably two of the worst companies on the planet!!Oh, you wee bazza!0
