NatWest Offer

I'm looking for a bit of advice.

I had a loan in 1996 with NatWest, i was told at the time that if i didnt take the PPI i would not get the loan.

After two letters and three months of waiting NatWest have made me an offer but i'm not sure if i should accept or not.

The letter from NatWest says that due to the time taken to make the complaint they are making a goodwill gesture and accepting no responsibility.

The loan was for £6500 over five years, i paid £1462 PPI which was front loaded.

Natwest are offering

Total refund of PPI Premium and associated interest paid to date £2,079.60

Statutory and Stay Interest Values £2,175.55

Less Tax (20%) £435.11

Total Offer £3,820.04

Does this sound about right to anyone?

Something just doesnt sound right with them saying it is a goodwill gesture which none of my other claims have said.

Any help is much appreciated.

Even though it is "goodwill" they have given you the whole PPI amount back and some, this is good for a loan from the 90s.

The saga of my Recorded Delivery acceptance letter has been well documented on here. These people would claim not to have received it if you delivered it by hand!

The pre paid envelope for your acceptance gets there sooner, recorded ones have to be signed for and herein lies the problem, they are probably sat in an in box at the bank as we speak.
