They don't just put your money somewhere. You have to agree to it.
Which bank?
Which account?
All fixed rate ISA have a withdrawal option.
Not all term deposits do. Lloyds, Santander and Co-op Bank examples of those who require you to die to get your money out early.0 -
If its a fixed term ISA you should have 14 days to change your mind. But its not something they shout about. You have to find it in the Terms & Conditions.“It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends on his not understanding it.” --Upton Sinclair0

See more and more people trying to cash in their fixed term deposits early only to find out they are not allowed, on this forum and others.
What with rates been going down on fixed term deposits for some time now, if only there was a way for you to take over a fixed term deposit from those wishing to cash in early and then keep it going until it matures. The person gets their money and you benefit from a better rate.
Wishfully thinking I suppose........ probably way to complicated to arrange (i.e. tax etc).Never let the perfume of the premium overpower the odour of the risk0 -
Depending on why you need the money, the bank might take pity on you. For example, I've seen some banks release the money early if it is needed for nursing home fees, and once when somebody wanted to pay for an operation privately.
Even if you don't have that sort of reason, it's worth asking the bank - but unless you're in the cancellation period, they may well say no.0 -
Its TSB and i was kina bullied into it looking back....0

Ifts can we not start a market to handle buying and selling of fixed deposits? Would serve as you say many and could be bigger than facebook
I believe past performance is a good guide to future performance :beer:0 -
