I sell a few personal odds and ends on ebay but i would like to concentrate on a specific item , i would then turn to the trade route and buy bulk of item and concentrate purely on this as income earner.
sounds easy i guess it ain't otherwise everyone would be doing it
No free lunch i know
Has anyone got suggestions where to start off with this

The problem with doing what you want to do is that whatever catagory of good you choose to deal in there are problems.
e.g.
They are too heavy to viably deal with by post. (i.e. Items that are so cheap the p&p would swamp any savings you could offer.
They are not obtainable wholesale: many manufacturers have certain requirements for retailers such as training, minimum stockholding.
They are likely to lead to problems with scammers and awkward customers (phones, CD's, DVD's etc).
Everybody else is doing it.
With eBay fees, paypoo fees, chargebacks and returned goods, you actually need to make quite a high gross profit to come out on top.
The usual advice is to try and find a niche - possibly somewhere where you have expert knowledge.
Apart from that, just be realistic about all your possible outgoings and realise that if you do highlight an 'ebayable' market, others will quickly try and muscle in on your patch.0
