Got Married. Shall we get joint car policy?

Hi,
My wife and I both have single policies for our own cars with full NCB, no claims and no endorsments. Is their any benefit to getting a joint policy? I like the current setup where our NCB is seperate and possible claims don't affect each other, but I imagine the costs would be lower annualy jointly.
Any advice welcome.

Tough call... most "joint" policies aren't actually joint policies at all but two separate policies where one or both benefit from a discount for having another car in the household insured.
As to whether you should - it might not actually be cheaper for you anyway as you and your partner could be quite different risk profiles and so no one insurer will be the most competitive for both of you.
If one insurer is competitive for both and that saves you money and the policies are not so much joint as discounted, then go for it. Otherwise two drivers with one set of NCD could be risky so I'd only do it for a large saving.Debt at highest: September 2003 - £26,350

I agree with DavidHM. For most couples, the sum of the cheapest premiums for each individual (with the cheapest company) will be less than the cheapest combined premium.
I have never managed to be insured by the same insurer as my wife, in 16 years of marriage - it's ALWAYS been cheaper to be with different companies.
So, I should forget about the supposed benefits of being with the same insurer and just keep shopping around for the best premium for each of you.0
