Printer/ scanner dead - need a good vaalue replacement

Ive been using a HPC3180 scanner/printer for the last few years, and its been a fairly decent bit of kit, its been fed on compatable cartridges for most of its life ( and these were further life extended with a re fil kit ) but over the last few moths its been having issues, the scanner no scans properly, and the printer has started rejecting cartridges ( even brand new ones)
I have tried all sorts of things to coax it back to life, such as repiring the splined shaft that drives the pulley that drives the scanner head, and even making a new pulley wheel myself, but now there are more problems down the mechanical drive train.
The printer part of it has also had a few issues, was self repaired and worked perfectly for a while before another set of problems surfaced.
There has also been an issue with a dry solder joint on the pcb where the power comes in ( eassily fixed, and strengthened with a blob of glue )
So in short i need to get a new printer/scanner this weekend, idealy under £65 and with cheap ink/cheap remanufactured cartridges
any recomendations.
if possible even one thats easy to open up and gain access to the mechanics when the time comes to do a repair ( although this may be asking too much )
any sugestions would be greatly appreciated

One option, though not so good for photos

Comet have it for £60 if you have one nearby, though check if guaranteed delivery from amazon is close to £60

PC World have it at £50 as a web exclusive but not sure if you can use buy and reserve for that price
An option for inks

I would certainly recommend a canon over their printers. If cost is a factor i find there compatibles to be of great quality and a lot cheaper that other competitors.
I tend to get my cartridges refilled at cartridge world and they work out to be about £3 per colour cartridge and £6 for the black.0
