Laundry Help

OH has put a load of washing on, he has just removed it found colour had run into white baby clothes turning them pink (wouldn't mind so much but we have a boy). He's had a telling off for mixing whites and colours, and for mixing baby clothes with our clothes as we have seperate wash setting on machine for baby.
I've googled and found can buy some colour run remover sachets at supermarket.

Anyone know of any cheap home remedies I could try first? They are currently soaking in hot water.

    Part of the Furniture
Soda crystals or biological powder. If you havent let them dry (and set the colour) chances are a couple of washes will get rid of it anyway.

I thought hot water set the colour run.

    Sachets have worked for me.
  • I agree, I recall my mum saying to me on period days:-

"Not to wash out my knickers in hot water, but to rinse and soak in cold as the blood won't set". So i always have done and it seems to work.

    How are things OP?
  • Btw the Old Style board might help with things like this, not been down there for a while, but they used to have all sorts of fantastic help.

    thanks all.
seems you may have been right about hot water setting the colour.
sent OH to supermarket to get the colour run remover in the end. some of the items that were only slightly effected have been restored. other items have lightened slightly but still pink. OH gonna try another wash with the remover to see if it'll lift even more.
on a money saving note, found out new neighbours are expecting a girl in 3-4 months, i'll offer the clothes to them if cant fix them.

Does it matter if you dress your boy in pink?
