6 months in and received letter from AIB

Hi

I was declare Bankrupt (Sequestrated) last November.

I have just recieved a letter from the Accountant In Bankruptcy this morning, requesting "Current State of Affairs".

Is this normal?

As I am self employed I have had to supply a income/expenditure to the AIB every month.

With it being 6 months since going bankrupt I am hoping that this is normal.

My nerves cannot take much more of this, constantly having to account for every penny each month. Just keep getting the uneasy feeling that someone is trying to catch you out.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

  • Don't think they are, they're just doing their job and will be trying to assess your income to get an average.
We're with a Trustee as we have a surplus and they send the request every six months, we're both employed and have payslips / P60s to prove stability of income.
    Good luck.

    Thanks for the reply.

Being self employed my income is variable, however they do not seem to take account that I may have slight surplus one month, but need it to cover a bill the next.

Not that business is brilliant, just managing to make a living wage at the moment.

should I expect to get another one in six months time just before the discharge?
  • If you were bankrupt in November they are probably looking to discharge you after they assess your income and expenditure

I'm afraid so, well that's how I read it.......not really up on Scottish BR but if in doubt do ring them to check for sure.

I was expecting 12 months regardless, but it would have been nice to have been discharged sooner.......
