Central "cheapish" hotel in Edinburgh

can anyone recommend a hotel in Edinburgh for a girly weekend, looking for it to be quite central and cheapish, as long as its clean and friendly not too bothered about decor etc.

  • I've stayed at the central hotel & the new grassmarket hotel in Edinburgh. Both in the old town right in the centre by the best bars, royalmile and the castle. Central Hotel is joined on to the three sisters bar who do girlie dinner, karaoke and fun packages on their website.

    Have fun :)

travelodge and premier inn both have several hotels in Edinburgh.
  • The Ibis in Hunter Square couldn't really be any more central and was the cheapest when I went in March, although still expensive in comparison to many other UK cities, but Edinburgh is worth it :)

I second the Ibis - fab location. There's also a couple of Holiday Inn Express dotted around the Grassmarket area I believe.

What dates? You also don't need a centralish hotel as Edinburgh is quite compact and the bus system pretty comprehensive
