Firefox pop-blocker not working. Any good pop-up blockers?

Usually, Firefox should block popups but for the last few weeks it hasnt, I was told of moving the profil over and making a new one? I was confused by this and didnt get what the member meant.

Are there any good pop-up blockers out there? Reccomendations please!

Thanks,

-MoE-

The popup blocker in Firefox works best for me and I'm not sure if you can get a better one. Toolbars that come with a popup blocker built in in IE, usually omit this feature in their Firefox version because it isn't necessary

If you want to try the suggestion of switching profile do the following:
    • Close Firefox completely and wait a min to make sure it's had time to close itself fully
    • From the Start Menu, select Run and type in Firefox -p
    • The 'profile manager' will launch that lets you create/choose profiles.
If the new profile does the trick then you can move your bookmarks over.

Tried the new profile suggesstion but no difference. Even deleted all the bookmarks and didnt get any data from the old profile into the new one.

Still more and more pop-ups, why is this? The pop-up block option is ticked in the options menu in firefox  .

Help please!!! It's getting really annoying!
  • I use the firefox default popup blocker. I guess yahoo is offering a free pop up blocker along with their toolbar. worth trying

Check your Firefox's "Options" settings (in Windows) or "Preferences" (under Linux) - under the content tab you'll find a tick box to disable/enable the pop-up blocker plus a button to configure the list of exceptions.

Have a look at that list and check if the sites that annoy you somehow turned up on there.
