Most will now know that as from November, pre 1960 cars etc will no longer need one.

What i would like to know is i have 2 such cars with nice numbers plates.

In the past i could not transfer these plates because the cars would never pass a MOT in as million years.

Can i as from November?

Had a eureka moment last night about this and wondered where I could source some old rusting hulks with transferrable reg plates just incase.

I could get an old 1950's motorised bike that is currently in bits in a box then transfer the plate if the MOT is no longer needed. Win!

I wouldn't bother. You can still MOT pre 60's cars if you want to, just no legal requirement to have it MOT'ed every year. They haven't changed the law on regisitration transfers, so you should still have to produc the mot for the registration as normal. If you haven't bothered as it's not a requirement to use it on the road, you'll have to voluntarily get one. I think the vehicle needs an mot at present to then qualify for mot exemption status, so if it's a wreck now, it'll never qualify to be exempt either.
