OMG I can't believe this! Got ANOTHER letter off them today saying I have failed to pay and to aviod further action, payment must be made within 7 days or legal action may be made against me leading to a ccj being sought against me. BUT when I loooked at the date on the letter it says 11 June!! I'm getting really sick of this now.0

I can believe it.
Falsely dating letters like that is a common tactic to scare you into calling them up in a panic.
Most debt collectors/sols use that tactic.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Oh, and although this so called court action is very very unlikely to happen, if they did they would be doing you a favour in a strange way.
You would defend it saying "this is not my debt", and as it isn't, they would not be able to show a court that it is. They would be forced to back down or lose.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Really? They said the matter was on hold when I sent them the letter asking them to prove the debts are mine, then I got a letter at the weekend offering me a substantial discount, now this! I dont know how these b******s sleep at night.0

Also, they cant send a bailiff round without the ccj order can they? Last thing I want is them knocking at my elderly parents door.0

They sleep very well at night, on nice soft beds, paid for by people who they have menaced into paying up with these silly tactics.

No. They can't.
They could send a field rep, but they have no powers at all. You can tell them to bog off. Highly unlikely that they would bother with that. It costs too much, and they know that this is disputed and would not be worth their while.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

That's OK.
These people do their best to mess with your head.
They know that someone who is panicked and worrying is more likley to just phone up and pay a debt, whether they owe it or not, just to make things go away.
