What a !!!!ed up system we have now.....its broke
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.

Sadly it's not until you've been through the system that you know how it works. It depends also on the person you signed on with, as some advisors will try anything to sanction you with - I was in trouble for applying for "too many jobs" one week, but none of them fitted the description on my job seekers form, so I was told I would be sanctioned the next time if this continued.

Sadly even if you get offered the best job in the world they still expect you to look for work until you actually start it.

I agree it's ridiculous, sometimes you just want to give them all a good dose of common sense. Write to them, then appeal, and see what happens. Another option is to threaten them with your MP, as that usually bucks them up.

MPs can act to change the law, but they can't interfere in the way existing laws are enforced.

Saying that, they've got this one wrong. OP, if you come back, I can help you
