    See, ignorance.

You just called my beloved pets, rescue dogs who've had a !!!!!! start and are doing brilliantly despite it, snappy and evil.

The size of the dog has nothing to do with how safe it is for your son to approach and interact with them.

O for pitys sake it was a joke (re: evil).
My experience is little dogs are more snappy.

That is "my" experience, having been brought up around quite a few small dogs of various breed type.

The experience of my wife is also similar, and she was born on a different continent.

I'm more cautious around smaller dogs with my son due to the experiences i've had.
    Nothing more, nothing less.

I'm sure your dogs are perfectly lovely but people are "forged" through experience and that is mine.

Finally, I'm not saying i would allow him to play with any old, random, larger dog either. I'm just more, personally, wary of smaller dogs for the above reasons.

So its not a joke, you think its true?

If you came on here and said all staffies are aggressive, based on your experience, you would rightly have a lot of angry posters on your back.

Its not on and not remotely accurate to make sweeping nasty statements about people's pets based on something as ridiculously arbitrary as size.

Based on my experiences, all beagles should be lazy, all huskies should be ball obsessed and all border collies should be aggressive. Doesn't make sense, does it?

By basing your decision on your son's safety around a dog on size, you are being, frankly, stupid and irresponsible.

I said i was more wary.
    That is it.
I'm not besmirching you or your dogs (or anyone else for that matter).

Any dogs i don't know i'm somewhat wary of, smaller ones i'm more so because of the things i've seen and experienced.

Are you seriously suggesting you don't have your own prejudices, however small, towards things based on experience?

I'd also like to point you back to the part where you were appearing amazed people wouldn't even come near your small fluffy puppies.

Why should they trust your dogs more than a big dog?

We disagree, i guess i'll leave it at that.
I'm certainly not going to call you names because i disagree.

    Certainly not consciously and unashamedly.
