Thank you folks! Much appreciated I have been looking at local-ish bridal shops online - they all seem to specialise the long meringue look (which I love to look at on others, it's gorgeous) which I know I cant wear.

i get married in 9 weeks and had a disater with my dress as it wouldn't fit around my bust, im a size 20/22 and bought this one from dorothy perkins yesterday http://media.dorothyperkins.com/wcsstore/DorothyPerkins/images/catalog/07974482_large.jpg and it seems to look good in all the right places and goes up to a size 22 xxx

UPDATE - the dress hasn't arrived if I was really getting married on July 2nd I would be in serious doo-doo!

I have sent the makers emails & received the usual 'crepe' back - it looks like I have lost £110....unless it finally turns up.

Been very down about it for a couple of days, but have bought a reserve dress from ebay in US (I hope to heaven this arrives but it is being sent on priority fast post). It's not lace but it is my kind of style & it is pink *lol*



The only other option I can think of is getting a conventional tea-length ivory/cream dress & wearing pinky accessories, veil etc BUT finding one of those in 4 weeks in the UK in a size 22-24? about 0.01% chance I'd say!!

Oh no :eek: Thank goodness you gave yourself an extra month after their deadline to sort out an alternative. I've just been browising on the Monsoon site and they have lots of wedding dresses in a size 22, some of which are the shorter length ones. There is one silver one but no pink!

How long is the ebay dress expected to take to arrive from the US?

this one is from BHS bridesmaid range and if you want to cover up your arms then there is also a bolero or stole you can get. This one is my favourite I think. With a puffy out petticoat it can be made to look a tad longer too. I think it comes in the dusky pink but can't remember.

Anyway, hope that the original dress does turn up in time. From dispatch it should be about a week or so.

most Monsoon/Next fitted dresses are a bit small on me - I'm a size 23 especially as most formal dress don't stretch which is a shame as I love loads of their stuff.

dress #2 should arrive within 7 days & bless her the vendor has posted it today (afternoon in California)

so it's either the reserve dress or my PJ's or a binbag at the moment...(or a gastric bypass & rescheduling it all to next year!)

Forgot to add - this is my really "omigod I have no wedding dress" dress, got the last one in my size from evans.co.uk yesterday - £30 down from £80. I am even toying with the idea of dyeing it pale pink!
