Hello Ladies & Gents
I am getting married on August 2nd, I have a bespoke dress ordered from a Chinese supplier, the design cobbled together from 2 dresses and communicated by photos & simple English ... I am pretty concerned that it may be awful/unwearable. I have told them I need it by July 2nd so I will have 1 month to find another dress!
I'm 40, a big lady (size 22 ish) and looking for a tea-length kind of frock in a pale pink, with sleeves and not too frilly - vintage-ish is cool though. I plan to wear flat shoes, have a small net birdcage veil & some simple home-tied flowers.
Any idea of where/how I could look for a back-up dress? Forgot to say I haven some disability & don't drive so huge trips and ages standing up trying on can be a bit difficult (but not impossible)
Any creative/knowledgeable people in the wedding dress business know of good sources?
My nearest big town in Yeovil in Somerset.
Thank you Thank you Thank you
edit: This is a pic of the kind of dress I have on order, just in a pearl pink with a button back:

Ohh; that's a really pretty dress!
To me, (not a dressmaker by any stretch of the imagination) it actually looks pretty simple so it would be hard to mess up the design but what do I know...
I'll try and do some googling for you and report back; the only issue is getting it in pink but I'll see what I can do.
Watch this space...
what about this:http://www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10001_10001_008010613206_-1?breadcrumb=Home~Women~Occasion+%26amp%3B+evening+wear
it's in light pink and a bit long but could be taken up; it's out of stock at size 22 but in stock at size 20 though. Iknow it's sleeveless but a nice pashmina or posh cardi could be worn too... i'll keep looking for you though

finding it hard to get somethign in your size, sleeved and pink tbh but I'll keep on at it0 -
Bless you elliebobs, it's very kind of you to look for me - I'm still looking too - but thank you0

suggestion, if you can't get something with sleeves, how about a dainty shawl?
I'm not a skinny lass and i am in my 40's with *sigh bingo wings, i have issues about it, so my wonderful bridesmaid thought of a shawl and it works a treat with my dress from china, which was custom made but slightly bigger in the bust than i am, again bridesmaid being a dressmaker adjusted it for me and we are ready to go.

This is my dress. took a few weeks to get here, and be warned that although you have paid, you still might need at least £40 in cash, for the import tax that some couriers nab you on.0 -
It looks good~ wish you good luck0

Thanks ladies/gents for the replies & ideas so far (relax, breathe!)0
