    Hi

the money she sent back came through as a payment rather than a refund so i didn't have to do anything, it just appeared.

If I don't get anywhere with Paypal, i did pay by credit card - would it be worth trying a chargeback? I do have an email saying she would send me a cheque as soon as she got the item back.

yes its definitely worth a try as you no longer have the item you paid for

I've just had a response to my email to the seller saying that she can't afford to refund for an item that is correct and that she is still willing to remake it for me. To be honest I really don't want to go down this road as if she's so adamant it's right at the moment then another one isn't going to be any better! It sounds very much like she is not going to budge - do you think paypal are likely to rule in my favour or am I better just trying to go straight for a chargeback? Will doing this cause a problem with my paypal account?

If she can't get the measurements right for the first corset, and your measurements haven't changed, there's nothing to say she'll get it right second time. I'd go for a chargeback and let Paypal sort it out. Yes she'll be out of pocket with a readymade corset when she does made-to-order, but that's her problem - she can always sell it on as readymade.
I am not stubborn. I am merely correct.

its difficult to buy those items online without having a proper fitting, even with your given measurements they are made slightly smaller so they pull you in at the right places....;)

the corset waist is usually around 2 to 3 inches smaller than your measured size for example, and some people have a higher waist, longer/shorter body etc....

I've worn corsets quite a lot so I'm used to the way they are sized etc - this one was so much too small that I could not physically get it on without completely undoing the laces etc. She made the waist size a full 6" smaller than my natural waist( i'm 25.5", and each panel of the corset is only 9.5")I did give her really detailed measurements etc, like distance from bust - waist, waist - hip etc. Definitely won't be ordering a custom made one online ever again though!!

I agree 6" smaller is excessive...I usually go to fairygothmother, can be a bit pricy though...

they have some lovely stuff - i have a lovely Vollers one (ouch for the wallet!) which was worth every penny as it fits really well. I think I'd have needed to remove a couple of ribs to get into the ebay one though!

I use Axfords Corsets in Brighton; a boyfriend had one made for me many years ago and it was superb.

Just a thought - if she's used to making for the fetish market, it's quite usual to have the laces not closed completely at the back as a style thing.
