Brown chili seeds

I use a lot of Sainsbury's green finger chili's. I've noticed some of the seeds inside the chili are brown, some white. All in an "in date" packet. Are the brown seeds any different than the white seeds to eat? (And does your bum agree?)
BTW I am this year growing my own chili's, so hopefully it won't be a problem for long.
Any chili growing info/links, etc please post to help with my first crop.

I think brown ones are white ones that have discoloured. By the way, the hottest part is the soft tissue around the seed, the placenta. So to reduce the heat, deseed. Unless you like the after burn.
Try Chillis Galore for info, down at the moment due to site changes.Warning: This forum may contain nuts.0 -

or keep the seeds in the meal and use less chilliesFreedom is the freedom to say that 2+2 = 4 (George Orwell, 1984).

You can, but I prefer the flavour of the pod rather than maximum burn. I suppose some people like a sore bum ...Talking of which, curries are the worst bum burners as they use powder. Whole chillis are so much better.

Thanks for the replies. I do eat the whole chili, but have just noticed when I chop them up the different seed colours. I didn't know if the brown seeds had "gone off" and could possibly give you a dicky tummy?0

Fruit and veg need to be seriously off to cause an upset stomach and you will then have a lot more than just a few discoloured seeds. We eat far too much with our eyes in this country0

No, they are common in chillis that are not fresh. InsideInsurance is correct, meat though is another issue entirely. I think the bacteria are quite different and more dangerous with meat and fish.Warning: This forum may contain nuts.0 -
